#ZionNationalPark #hiking #angelsLanding Some photos from the ridge section of the Angel's landing hike. (From about 10 days ago.)
And as always, the trail was CROWDED. So some places you needed to go around people, letting go of the chains to do so. At one point, I had to get off the path completely and sit on a little ledge with my feet facing a 1000' drop and my hands clinging to sandstone to not slip.
Topo map of Angels Landing at Zion National Park! Gift for my partner, planning to make a series of these for each stop we made in a big camping trip.
Took about 6hrs on the machine iirc?
Today in #ZionNationalPark we hiked #AngelsLanding, which had this amazing view at the top. However, easily the hardest day hike I've ever done, and I include #GrandCanyon in that.
The first part isn't bad - mostly paved switchbacks at a fairly steep incline for the first 2mi. The last half a mile is a pulse pounding chain hike up approximately 500ft.
