According to the article, "MLB and Hernández had spent the past two weeks negotiating a financial settlement before reaching a resolution over the weekend."
I don't know what settlement that is, but I'm reading that as MLB going, "Yo, Angel, if we give you this amount of money, will you then *please* go away?"
Angel's string of egregious-even-for-him calls this season might have been his ploy to squeeze a bigger payday out of MLB.
