La notte degli Oscar 2026 incorona "Una battaglia dopo l'altra": il film diretto da Paul Thomas Anderson è il grande trionfatore della 98esima edizione degli Academy Awards, andata in scena al Dolby Theatre di Los Angeles e presentata, per il secondo anno consecutivo, dal comico e conduttore Conan O'Brien. Dopo aver vinto quasi tutti i principali premi della stagione, la pellicola era favorita e si è aggiudicata il premio più prestigioso, quello per il Miglior film, mentre Anderson - dopo decenni di candidature e riconoscimenti - ha conquistato finalmente la statuetta per la Miglior regia.
Con sei Oscar, la pellicola è stata la più premiata della cerimonia: oltre alle due categorie principali, "Una battaglia dopo l'altra" ha portato a casa anche l'Oscar per la migliore sceneggiatura non originale, firmata dallo stesso Anderson, e i premi per miglior montaggio (Andy Jurgensen) e quello per il miglior casting (Cassandra Kulukundis), introdotto proprio in questa edizione. Premiato anche Sean Penn per la miglior interpretazione maschile non protagonista, mentre l'Oscar per il Miglior attore protagonista è andato a Michael B. Jordan, consacrato definitivamente tra i grandi protagonisti del cinema americano contemporaneo per la sua interpretazione nel film "I peccatori", diretto da Ryan Coogler.
Resta a bocca asciutta Timothee Chalamet, candidato per "Marty Supreme". Il premio per la Miglior attrice è invece stato assegnato a Jessie Buckley per "Hamnet - Nel nome del figlio", interpretazione delicata e struggente che ha conquistato pubblico e critica, portando l'attrice irlandese al primo Oscar della carriera.

The night of the 2026 Oscars crowned “One Day at a Time”: the film directed by Paul Thomas Anderson was the great triumph of the 98th Academy Awards ceremony, held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles and presented, for the second consecutive year, by comedian and host Conan O’Brien. After winning almost all the major awards of the season, the film was the favorite and won the most prestigious prize, Best Picture, while Anderson – after decades of nominations and recognition – finally won the Best Director statue.
With six Oscars, the film was the most awarded at the ceremony: in addition to the two main categories, “One Day at a Time” also took home the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay, penned by Anderson himself, and the awards for Best Editing (Andy Jurgensen) and Best Casting (Cassandra Kulukundis), introduced just in this edition. Sean Penn was also honored for Best Supporting Male Actor, while the Best Actor award went to Michael B. Jordan, definitively established among the great protagonists of contemporary American cinema for his performance in “Judas and the Black Messiah,” directed by Ryan Coogler.
