Inspired by a now deleted post, i have recreated some classic headlines from BYTE magazine's first few issues. The originals use Lydian, my recreations use Andily https://drj11.itch.io/andily-font (my own copy of Lydian).

First the classic "What this country needs is a good 8-Bit High Level Language".

This is another release of mine that originated in Advent of Type. Andily is a digitisation of Lydian (Chappell). Since the Advent of Type release, i've added the little letters, dashes, and typographic quotes (use the OpenType Layout feature case to get ones that match the capital letters).

The repertoire is limited, following the original US PTO scan, but i like this font, so i will be adding accents and stuff, but no timetable so far.

It's ideal for book covers (about half the uses of Lydian on FontsInUse are books).

Please share and enjoy!

I've always had this urge to do a digitisation of Lydian—a font that garners the admirable emotions of Comic Sans. And so on Day 5 of Advent of Type, i present to you my drawing of Chappell's work, called Andily. Caps-only + minimal punctuation.
And, reflecting Lydian's time-honoured work the in the book arts, i show a combined mock-up of the three books i am currently reading.
