The Summer Book, a long summer with the family

The Summer Book is another small, quiet family story. I keep stumbling upon these calm and quiet films lately. They are soothing. This one stars Glenn Close. […]

‘Detective Hole’ Review: Jo Nesbo Brings Harry Hole to Netflix in a Moody Adaptation That’s Better Than ‘The Snowman’

Tobias Santelmann plays the tormented sleuth, with Joel Kinnaman as his smirking, corrupt adversary, in this Oslo-set murder mystery.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

#TheSummerBook is a beautiful ode to life, death, aging + the space between generations. Based on a novel by #ToveJansson + directed by #CharleiMcDowell w/ great performances by #AndersDanielsenLie (star of #JoachimTrier #films) + newcomer #EmilyMatthews - But it is #GlennClose who shows what an magnificent force she is on screen, giving a sublime subtle brave display of her talents. A shame so few will see it!

(ARD, Wh.)
