Ok, so we all know LinkedIn is a steaming pile of garbage populated almost 100% by job-link bots and middle management clowns doing a public and performative rah rah for capitalism. But now, also, apparently, if you haven’t used the site recently— like, say, since your last job search years ago— LinkedIn will flag your account, say “suspicious activity”, and lock you out until you prove your identity by UPOADING A GOVERNMENT ID.

I never got any, literally zero, value from the site anyway, I only keep the account because I am still indefensibly gleeful that the shortlink to my profile page/resume is just my first name. No more profile edits or fruitless job searches for me, I guess!
