Just because it's not in your knowledge domain, it does not mean it's "Not serious"

Here is a peer reviewed, seminal paper by Nick Bostrom on Ancestor Simulation Theory.

There are also a couple of other indicators that might support his theory.

The first is:
The universe is binary not analog on sub-atomic scale. Planck length == "pixels"

The other is;
Goldilocks parameters.
Universe has something like 20+ constants where a deviation of just a tiny fraction of percent, would mean stars would not be able to form, or atomic bonds would not be able to work.
