Gestern analogen Zuwachs bekommen. Als defektes Bastel-Objekt eine Olympus 35 ECR von 1972 für einen kleinen Euro ersteigert. Für mich als Besitzer einer Olympus 35 EC bringt die Nachfolgerin für mich interessante neue Eigenschaften mit. So zum Beispiel die Positionierung der Film-Patrone. Im Gegensatz zur 35 RC wird der Film auf der rechten Seite eingelegt. Überraschend war für mich auch, dass der Auslösemechanismus nur mit eingelegter Batterie funktioniert. Nun steht erst mal eine Grundreinigung an und die Suche nach einer Adapter-Lösung für herkömmliche Knopfzellen, denn die Quecksilberhaltigen Batterien RM-640 mit einer Spannung von 1,35 V sind nicht mehr erhältlich. Da wird wohl, wie bei der 35 RC auch, eine Schottky-Diode eingelötet werden müssen.

"Banned Al-Quds Day Demo, London".

2026.

In 2026, the annual Al-Quds day demo was banned by the British state after the state intervened to help the US and Israel attack Iran. The Starmer administration allowed a small, static "demonstration" of a few hundred who were to be surrounded by police from all over the country, prevented from marching, and only allowed two hours.

The demonstration is a conventionally a Palestinian solidarity one (al-Quds being the Arabic name for Jerusalem), and was in the context of the last few weeks against the Iran war. Some participants also commemorated the recently killed Iranian leader Khameini.
