Your book is great.
Nobody cares.
Not yet. Not until you build the bridge between the book and the people it was written for.
The bridge does not build itself.
Writing process/progress:
1. I started out by writing about half a book, got stuck, couldn't get unstuck, shelved it.
2. I removed about half of what I'd written and used it in another book.
3. I filled in the half I removed with the beginnings of a different subplot.
4. Now I have about half a book again.
Sigh.
I'm rewriting a story about Mira (that character whose name I've recently asked about), which I wrote a few years ago. I've noticed an interesting flaw: it lacks a single vector. It's like, instead of making a spear tip, I was also trying to carve it into a spoon, a necklace, and a shoe -- all handy objects, but quite confusing as one thing. So I've been sharpening it back into existence, as a story and not just an exercise in writing.
