For the second year in a row 2KOOL4ARTSKOOL is showing young artists who are making their debut in the “real” artworld! This year, several artists who graduated last year will show their work in their first year outside of art school alongside the brand new artists who are graduating this year who will be showing their biggest work yet: their graduation projects. A diverse group of young artists will be showing work from different disciplines including game design, illustrations, comics and paintings. Come to 2KOOL4ARTSKOOL for fresh ideas and innovative art outside of the confines of traditional art school!

Contemporary instrumental music from Brazil by Santos Latif González Trio

Santos Latif González Trio is a group dedicated to contemporary instrumental music from Brazil, departing from the traditions of choro, samba and música instrumental brasileira, also known as Brazilian Jazz.
Our members are Tiago Santos (10-string mandolin), Nelson Latif (7-string guitar) and Mariano González (percussion).
In the group that carries our names, we showcase our original compositions and exploring new possibilities of the instruments we play, which are highly attached to the Brazilian, African and Latin American traditions, but also in constant transformation. Tiago Santos Mandolinist, multi-instrumentalist, composer and musicologist from Ribeirão Preto, Brazil. PhD candidate and member of the UNESCO Chair on Transcultural Music Studies at "Hochschule für Musik FRANZ LISZT" in Weimar, Germany. Tiago has been performing concerts and giving courses and workshops worldwide with performances, compositions, studies, and research for mandolin that mix different backgrounds and elements of Brazilian, Latin American, and other classical musical genres. He has recorded five albums: "Ludicamente" (2023), "Afinidades" (2022), "O Bandolim Polifônico de 10 cordas" (2019), "Nosso Tempo" (2017), and "Chorobossambando" (2013). Cavaquinho and acoustic guitar player Nelson Latif formed his musical identity in the legendary jazz scene of 1980's São Paulo. With roots in choro and jazz, Latif merges Brazilian styles and a classical guitar technique with diverse musical influences. In his melodic phrasing one hears bebop and Brazilian syncopations. As cultural promoter, Nelson Latif has been coordinating educational projects for universities and cultural institutions around the world. Mariano González is a multi-instrumentalist and musicologist from São Paulo, Brazil. His percussion style is all about the expressive potential of single instruments, and seeking the mind-body-instrument connection on any musical style. As a researcher, he is dedicated to percussive music from African and the Latin American diaspora, and has recently defended a PhD dissertation in musicology and linguistics at Utrecht University in the Netherlands, focusing on the drum languages of the Yoruba in Nigeria. As a lecturer, Mariano has worked at the UNESCO Chair on Transcultural Music Studies at the FRANZ-LISZT University of Music in Weimar (Germany), the Utrecht Conservatory HKU (Netherlands) and the TU Delft (Netherlands).

Queer Is Not Dead Fest – antifascist festival at Vrankrijk 28th of August & OCCII/Binnenpret, Amsterdam 29th & 30th of August.

In our current political climate we need to focus on what unites us – Queer is not dead Fest aims to strengthen and connect the antifascist and queer communities.

The fest consists of workshops, skill sharing and parties, related to queer and antifascist topics and groups. There will be open slots for spontaneous contributions, discussions and action-planning.

You don’t need to be queer to join the fest, it’s meant to connect different political movements that engage in antifascist actions with the queer community.

acid! is een Amsterdams collectief dat hiphop, trap, alternatieve punk en klassieke invloeden samentrekt tot een geluid dat nergens anders klinkt. Rauw, genre-overschrijdend en gedragen door een hechte community, acid! bouwt niet alleen aan muziek, maar aan een wereld.

Indie Island is een project van Thunderboom, Wij Doen Dingen en Cinetol dat de grenzen tussen liveshow en digitale ruimte opheft. Bij deze show ben je welkom in de zaal bij Cinetol én in Planet acid!, de eigen wereld van het collectief in Fortnite. De show speelt zich op beide plekken tegelijk af. Wie zich aanmeldt, ontvangt voorafgaand aan de avond de Fortnite-link.

Alex Apolline

Alex Apolline is een singer-songwriter uit een klein stadje nabij Glasgow, Schotland. Geworteld in een achtergrond van theater en verhalen vertellen, stond ze al op jonge leeftijd op het podium voordat ze zich op songwriting richtte – een natuurlijke verlenging van haar passie voor levendige, emotioneel geladen verhalen. Haar nummers bieden een inkijk in haar wereld en combineren persoonlijke ervaringen met weelderige arrangementen en een filmische gevoel voor drama.

Haar debuut-EP, Tales of an Eldest Daughter (geproduceerd door Oscar Lang – Beabadoobee, awfultune, Flyte), verscheen in mei 2025 via Young Poet en introduceerde Alex’ spookachtig etherische geluid en lyrische diepgang. Op de EP verkent ze thema’s als liefdesverdriet, jeugdtrauma en de complexiteit van identiteit.

In november 2025 bracht Alex Apolline haar nieuwe single HIT ME WHERE IT HURTS. uit, een filmisch en aanstekelijk nummer dat haar positie als echte muzikale verhalenverteller verder bevestigde. De track verzamelde meer dan 1 miljoen streams en kreeg steun van BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio Scotland en Spotify (New Music Friday UK).

Nu haar tweede EP eraan komt, markeert Alex een gedurfde muzikale en visuele evolutie. Ze treedt uit de mist van de adolescentie en beweegt zich richting iets scherpers, sensuelers en zelfverzekerders. Dit tweede hoofdstuk vangt de opwinding en grilligheid van het toegeven aan verlangen en het leven in zijn volle intensiteit ervaren. Met een rijpere stem en onbevreesde storytelling is The Sun From Both Sides niet alleen een voortzetting, maar ook een verklaring van groei, vrijheid en het volledig omarmen van haar eigen kracht.
