Today, I’m interrupting the Vauxhall sequence for this topical post on the German Amphicar, a half-car, half-boat contraption from the 1960s. Why topical? Well it turns out - and I didn’t realise this until I saw a post on here yesterday (link in next post on this thread) - that the late President Carter had one of these. Not only that - another president, LBJ, had one too. Snapped at Techno Classica Essen in 2023 (blue car) and 2017 (red car).
