AmigaOS 4 Monthly Roundup – January 2026

Introduction

Hi, and welcome to the first AmigaOS 4 Monthly Roundup in 2026! Thank you for visiting my blog. 🙂

I’ve implemented a few changes thanks to suggestions from readers. The most important one this time comes from Erikorh in the Amigans channel on Discord. He suggested headlines for each news item. I thought that was a great idea, so in this roundup I’ve given this a try. I hope this will make the text easier to navigate than previously. Thanks Erikorh!

If you have feedback of any kind concerning these roundups, please contact me through the Amigans forum or on the Amigans Discord. 🙂

Now, let us dive into the news.

Software News

Hollywood 11: Coderise

The biggest news in January was probably the release of Hollywood 11: Coderise. Here is the official press release from Airsoft Softwair.

Hollywood 11: Coderise is a massive update with lots of new features, optimizations and bug fixes. The most important new feature is that Hollywood 11 finally introduces a modular build system which will only link the libraries actually required by a script to the compiled program. This can drastically reduce executable sizes and is especially important on Amiga systems where memory is often limited. Hollywood 11 finally makes it possible to compile programs that fit on a single 880kb disk and run on a vanilla A1200! The new modular build system is made possible by a brand-new subsystem called Miniwood which, in contrast to Hollywood, allows scripts to only link the libraries actually required by the script to the output executable. Using Miniwood doesn’t only have advantages for Amiga users but also for users of other platforms: For example, if scripts don’t decide to load the display library, the program will also work on systems without X11, e.g. on pure terminal servers which was previously impossible.

Of course, the introduction of Miniwood isn’t the only new feature in Hollywood 11. There are many other exciting new things in Hollywood 11. Here are just a few of them:

  • introduction of Miniwood to massively reduce executable sizes
  • sound stream export is now possible
  • lots of new AmigaOS 3.2 features now supported
  • new AmigaOS-specific extensions like backdrop windows
  • support for the Linux arm64 platform
  • several improvements concerning layer grouping
  • audio recording support in different formats
  • samples can be extracted from music streams
  • optimized for Hollywood Designer 7
  • much more convenient capture of console output
  • much more effective compressor for smaller executables
  • lower memory consumption (important on classic AmigaOS)
  • tray menu support
  • monolithic compilation now supported for macOS arm64 systems
  • console mode supported on macOS as well now
  • GDK support on Linux
  • great enhancements for Android (scoped storage and MediaStore support)
  • implemented several new plugin interfaces
  • ready for at least 3 new Hollywood 11-exclusive plugins
  • over 100 new pages of PDF documentation, 1380 pages altogether!
  • lots of other changes, optimizations and bug fixes

Hollywood 11 is the ultimate Multimedia experience and a must-have for all creative people. Hollywood is available on CD and as a download version. Both versions include Hollywood for all supported platforms. Buying Hollywood gets you a single-user license for all 17 platforms supported by Hollywood. If you already own Hollywood, you can buy a discounted upgrade version.

Hollywood is the ultimate bridge between all the different AmigaOS compatible platforms and the other three modern desktop systems, Windows, macOS, and Linux! Additionally, Hollywood also supports the Android and iOS platforms. A truly unique feature is the ability to cross-compile native executables for many different platforms including: AmigaOS3, AmigaOS4, WarpOS, MorphOS, AROS (x86), Windows (x86, x64), macOS (x86, x64, arm64, ppc), Linux (x86, x64, ppc, arm, arm64), and Android/iOS with optionally available add-ons. You don’t even have to own these platforms in order to compile executables for them. It’s enough to run Hollywood on one of the supported platforms and then compile programs for all the others! Only Hollywood makes it possible. If you want to learn more about Hollywood, please visit the the official Hollywood portal which also has a forum for all questions concerning Hollywood.

All this makes Hollywood The Cross-Platform Multimedia Application Layer. Join the Multimedia revolution and get your personal copy of Hollywood 11: Coderise now!

This release was brought to you by Airsoft Softwair – the hardest working men in code business.

Ubek

Version 1.1.2 of the first person shooter Ubek became available on OS4Depot on January 6th. There, we can read the following:

“Ubek is a remake of a commercial fps game released for classic Amiga in 1995 by Twink Spark Soft. The main idea behind the remake is to make it convenient and pleasing to play on modern systems, while preserving 100% of the original graphics, puzzles and story.

The main programmer, author of the original and remake is Szymon Ulatowski, Marek “Smakrusg” Glogowski helped in porting the game to AmigaOS 4. In addition, musicians Albert Czochara and Remigiusz Kolasa also contributed to the sound design of the Ubek. The game’s beta tester was Rafal Chyla, who also created the icons and helped prepare the documentation.”

Features of the new version include:

  • Modern high resolution, 60 fps
  • 3D hardware acceleration (using GL4ES)
  • Graphics improvements, including a better look for weapons or hero characters (you can switch to classic mode, which looks like the 1995 original)
  • New extended music setting and better sfx effects
  • Control enhancements – keyboard plus mouse or optional (tooltype option) gamepad using analog knobs
  • The location of the level exit is visible on the radar
  • Improvements in better weapon range and effectiveness
  • Hitting enemies partially visible around corners is now allowed (in the old version, if the center of an enemy’s body was obscured by a wall, he was completely immune to hits).
  • Added safeguards against accidental destruction of critical objects (e.g., keys) needed to complete a level.
  • Added option to quickly save and load
  • Many other minor fixes and improvements to make gameplay easier and the game better in general

The final version is now out. Here is the changelog for the release since 1.1.2:

    scrollable window area
  • Graphical displays are hidden during window resizing, which improves speed
and flexibility on systems that resize windows with full contents
  • Added the “Palette editor” tool for modifying, setting, or removing palettes
  • Whole directories can be added into the batch conversion list with the Add
button or just drag’n’drop from OS windows
  • Batch resizing can keep the aspect ratio of an original image
  • Added an option to disable redrawing during a batch conversion to speed up
the process on lower end setups
  • Added a progress gauge in the batch conversion window
  • Zoom level can be changed in the Pixel Editor
  • Pixels can’t be drawn “out-of-bounds” in the Pixel Editor window
  • Palette images are converted to RGB images only when needed or requested

changes caused by any image conversion process during saving
  • Added an option to convert RGB images to palette images with Quantize effect
  • Window title indicates if an image is an (A)RGB or Palette image
  • Almost all effects work with palette images now, though some options may not
work exactly as with RGB images
  • The Clear option detects the image colour format
  • The Color Picker tool shows the palette pen alongside the RGB values
  • Brush and text drawing can be locked to borders/corners/centre, which makes
it easier to add watermarks, etc. to varying image dimensions
  • Setting co-ordinates for the Draw effect by mouse over the image can be
constrained vertically or horizontally by pressing Shift or Ctrl keys
  • The “j” key swaps main and buffer images (as used in DPaint and PPaint)
  • Added presets for Amiga WB 1.x, 2.x, Rebel, and PeterK/IconLib palettes
  • Added presets for resolutions on Resize and Crop windows, the last applied
resolution is shown as the first item in the preset list
  • Width and height values can be swapped in Resize and Crop windows
  • A cropped image can be copied to the internal buffer instead of applying the
    effect to the current image
  • Buffer changes are refreshed on effects that use the buffer image
  • Color Picker and Area Selector tools broke some effects like elliptical crop
  • Transparency level can be set on the Background effect
  • Improved error handling
  • Other minor fixes and changes

AmigaOS 4 Monthly Roundup – October 2025

Introduction

Hi everyone,

Thanks for visiting my blog, and for checking out this new issue of the AmigaOS 4 Monthly Roundup!

My A1222+. Photo by Puni.

If you are new to this series (hi, and welcome!), it’s essentially a summary that covers the previous month’s news related to the AmigaOS 4 platform.

This month, October, has been jam-packed with events and news, almost too much to keep up with! News is spread on many channels, so there is a lot to keep track of, but that is part of the fun, and the reason they end up in a roundup like this. 😉

Anyway, October has been a FANTASTIC month for the AmigaOS 4 community, I dare to state that. It will be hard to top this for a while, I think!

Without further ado, let’s dive into what October was like in the world of AmigaOS 4!

Software News

First up is ReSrc4 from René W. Olsen. This is a portable Amiga 68k hunk file disassembler. The source code is available on GitHub:

https://github.com/rolsen74/resrc4

The archive can be fetched from OS4Depot:

AmiBrixx is a puzzle game for the Amiga, ported from the PC version called Joemine. It was brought over by Joerg Renkert. Version 2.31 is now available for download from OS4Depot. It supports skins, which means that you can change how the game looks in many ways!

Screenshot by Puni

In a field of stacked stones, your target is to eliminate groups of stones of the same color. Thereby, the other stones will fall down and form new groups. The game ends when no more groups can be eliminated.

The game works very well, and I enjoyed testing it. I recommend that you give it a try if you enjoy puzzle games like this!

Kikems is back with version 1.0R7 of the next generation pixel editor for Amiga called Pixy. The original concept was created by Sinisrus, who worked on it in the years 2016 to 2020. Kimens from AmigaWave is now improving it further.

Pixy is a drawing program dedicated to pixel art and graphics with alpha channel transparency. It allows you to create several animations in a single project, and each image of each animation sequence contains its own layers. This makes it possible to work on all the animations of a character when creating video games, for example. The interface is intentionally inspired by Photoshop.

On Aminet, we can also see that A. Pankalla has released a set of special mouse drivers. He writes as follows:

This mouse drivers based on open-source code from diverse authors and was changed in two manners.

First, some functions are changed, because they deprecrated and second i changed some lines of codes to fit to severale mouse types. The changed source code you find in the source directory, it is based on the xero-driver from W. Hosemann. You can recompile it with different constants to genrate the special drivers.

The main new function of the driver’s is to provide a possibility to scroll also in horizontal direction, this is usesd, for example, in the directory windows or the notepad. This function is mapped to special hardware buttons. Check the hardware id’s with tools like usbinspector or devinfos(ng). the driver only works with this deticated hardware!

AmigaOS 4 Monthly Roundup – August 2025

Hi there,

Welcome to a new post here on the Old School Game Blog!

Today, on August 31st, it is once again time for a new AmigaOS 4 Monthly Roundup.

Like last month, it is impressive and delighting to see how much is happening on the platform these days!

Without further ado, here’s the AmigaOS 4 news covering August 2025. 🙂 Enjoy!

Software News

Let us start with some game related news. 🙂

Picture lent from https://lookbehindyou.de/produkt/diesiedler2amiga/

The Settlers II Gold Edition is coming to AmigaOS 4! Yes, you read it correctly, we’ve got a port of this legendary game coming to the platform! 😀 It is scheduled for an Amiga release on October 18th.

With an official license from Ubisoft Entertainment, the game will be available natively for the Amiga. Not as a quick port, but as an optimized version that shows what the Amiga is really capable of!

Picture lent from https://lookbehindyou.de/produkt/diesiedler2amiga/

I quote from the thread on Amigans:

“After nearly 30 years, the classic city-building strategy game The Settlers II is finally coming to the Amiga with an officially licensed, fully optimized release from Ubisoft. The Gold Edition features four civilizations, 30+ professions, expansive campaigns, and richly detailed environments.

Available in Digital (€29.90), Box (€49.90), and limited Collector’s Edition (€99.90). Pre-orders before September 18, 2025 include an art print and five bonus maps.

System Requirements – 68k (Min): Amiga AGA, 68040 @ 40 MHz, 32 MB RAM, OS 3.1, AHI 4.18, 600 MB HDD. PPC (Min): PPC-Amiga, 603e @ 175 MHz, 32 MB RAM, OS 3.1+WarpUP or OS 4.1, AHI, 500 MB HDD.”

https://www.amigans.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?start=0&topic_id=9913&order=ASC&status=&mode=0

From the official webpage:

The legendary city-building strategy classic is finally coming to the Amiga!

In 1993, The Settlers revolutionized gaming on the Amiga and invented a whole new genre: the city-building strategy game. When the even more ambitious and still-fan-loved sequel, The Settlers II , was released in 1996, the king of home computers didn’t get it. Almost 30 years later, this gaming history is finally being rectified!

Officially licensed by Ubisoft Entertainment, The Settlers II Gold Edition will be available natively for the Amiga starting October 18, 2025. Not as a quick port, but as a lovingly optimized version that showcases what the Amiga is truly capable of.

For us, the PowerPC version is the most interesting. 😉 Here are the requirements and recommended hardware information in more detail:

PowerPC version

Minimum requirements PPC version:

PPC Amiga with AmigaOS 4.1 or AmigaOS 3.1 with WarpUP
603e/175 MHz
32 MB RAM
AmigaOS 3.1 with WarpUP or AmigaOS 4.1
AHI
500 MB of free hard disk space

Recommended system requirements PPC version:

PPC Amiga with AmigaOS 4.1 or AmigaOS 3.2 with WarpUP
G3 800 MHz or higher
For resolutions above 640×480, a graphics card (PCI, AGP or PCIe) is recommended
64 MB RAM
AmigaOS 3.2 with WarpUP or AmigaOS 4.1
AHI
500 MB of free hard disk space

Picture lent from https://lookbehindyou.de/produkt/diesiedler2amiga/

In the news article on amiga-news.de, we can read the following:

The Settlers II Gold Edition for Amiga is much more than a simple conversion. The development team has optimized the game specifically for Amiga hardware. To see the cute little settlers busy at work, it only takes an Amiga with an AGA chipset and a 68040 processor running at 40 MHz. An additional graphics card is not needed, but recommended. PowerPC Amigas with AmigaOS 4.1 or AmigaOS 3.1 with WarpUP are also natively supported.

“Our goal wasn’t just to prove that porting The Settlers was technically possible,” said Amiga developer Steffen Häuser. “We wanted to make its unique gaming experience available on the Amiga as well—exactly as it should have been in 1996.”

Patreon:
https://www.patreon.com/c/entwicklerx/posts

Thomas and Frank from EntwicklerX have started a Patreon page to share early information about game development, with a focus on games for AmigaOS4 and classic Amigas. Development for the original Amiga computers will proceed gradually, from free mini-games to larger commercial products. These small games serve as the basis for larger projects and integrate new features that will be incorporated into the more comprehensive games. Every donation allows us to invest more time in the projects and advance them.

You can also support the developers by purchasing the games here on Itch, Steam, the Google Play Store, or various game consoles.”

Fantastic work by EntwicklerX! 🙂 Congratulations on this release!

Maijestro of the Amiga Retro Channel has published a great video showing the game in action!

The goal is to try to make it POSIX compliant and fix all the C++ problems with newer compilers. All warnings (except really few) produced by GCC 10 and above are now gone.

Daniel Jedlicka, a.k.a. Trixie on Amiga forums, has released an updated version of Rave, his sound editor for AmigaOS 4 compatible computers.

Changes since the previous release are as follows:

  • The program now uses sndfile.library (needs to be installed in LIBS:) for sample loading and saving, instead of a custom module.
  • Added support for Microsoft ADPCM compression in the loader and saver code.
  • New function in the Edit menu: “Set selection”, which allows making precise selections based on user input or pre-defined ranges.
  • The item “Extend selection” in the Edit menu has been renamed to “Modify selection”, and its submenu contains two new commands, “Halve” and “Double”.
  • Fixed the “Create new drawer” function in the file requester, which would cause a lockup if the “Enter created drawer” option was selected.
  • Fixed a small bug introduced in V1.7 which would leave certain menu commands available even if no sample was loaded.
  • Across all program components, reworked memory allocations to make them more consistent and less error-prone.
  • When loading the list of recently opened files, Rave now checks the list and removes all items that are no longer available.
  • In the file requester, the file name gadget wouldn’t accept more than 127 characters; the limit has been increased to MAX_DOS_NAME (255 characters) to support long file names in modern filesystems.
  • Various other smaller improvements and fixes.
  • Updated documentation.

Steffen Häuser a.k.a TheMagicSN has once again brought something brilliant to AmigaOS 4! This time he has ported RetroArch to the platform!

RetroArch is a modular Emulation System. In short:

    • Functions like Video Refresh, Sound, Gamepad etc. only are implemented once, in the central exe
    • The central exe is highly optimized, with a multithreaded Approach (often faster than individual Emulators)
    • It is much easier to port “Cores” (the Modules) than a fully new Emulator of some System
    • A large amount of “Cores” is already available (see also the separate Archives with Cores on this site)
    • All under a common GUI. So no longer GUI-less Emulators.

With RetroArch you can enjoy many different systems like the Nintendo Entertainment System, SEGA Genesis, and many, many more!

Häuser has made the program available for free on OS4Depot:

Please consider donating if you enjoy this software. A donation button is present on the OS4Depot download page.

Capehill has released the first version of ShaderNova. It can be downloaded from his website:

    https://capehill.kapsi.fi/

    The author writes:

“ShaderNova can mirror content from other windows and render it using fragment shaders. This enables various post processing effects.

It’s a bit similar to ShaderGlass on Windows. Warp3D Nova is required. New shaders can be added.

Please check the readme, it should cover the details. And please post your shaders, if you write some!”

Marek Glogowski created a small video showing it running.

On Aminet.net you will find an updated version of the LimipdClock by Thomas Rapp. Version 1.17 was released on August 19th.

    https://aminet.net/package/util/wb/limpidclock

    New in version 1.17:

    • added anti aliasing for analog clock
    • added new clock hand type (squares)
    • added possibility to scroll through months
    • added ability to change behaviour of calendar (sticky popups, different highlighting etc.)
    • added texteditor.gadget replacement for OS 3.1 (use only on OS 3.1 and below!)
    • fixed multi-select handling for menu items
    • changed error message to list the missing ReAction/ClassAct classes
    • changed about window to work correctly with PowerIcons and OS4.

It does not seem it has found its way to the holy shrine that is OS4Depot yet, but in the meantime, Aminet is the place to go for this application.

A preview of the upcoming issue 176 of Amiga Future is out. Please see the image below for more information. Not much AmigaOS 4 related on the cover this time, even though there has been a lot of activity on the platform during the last months.

The development of the Mirari board is going on full steam! As many of you know, MorphOS is running on it now, but after what I’ve read on Discord (in the Amigans.net channel), a new batch of boards has been received by Skateman and will be forwarded to appropriate AmigaOS 4 developers. Exciting news for sure! I think this board will bring many new users to the platform, and I’m very interested in getting hold of the board once it becomes available for purchase. Now, for those lucky enough to be at the upcoming show Amiga 40th in Mönchengladbach, Germany, they can look forward to seeing the Mirari on display! It will be shown at the MorphOS booth by Skateman and the creator Geennaam.

Speaking of Amiga 40th, Marcian reports on Amigans.net that you can now vote for the nominees. You can find the complete list in the following thread:

    https://www.amigans.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=9883

Happy to see many familiar names there and wish them the best of luck! I’ve submitted my votes and hope you will too. 🙂

Elfpipe has launched a competition different from many otheres. It is the AmiQute Challenge 2025! He writes:

“So here is the proposal: We will host a challenge consisting in a run to port and create the most Qt6 software for AmigaOS4. It will take place over the next few months, and there will be points given and prizes taken. The points will be given by a panel of judges, and the prizes will be financed by the donations made through the AmiQute Ko-fi page. The more software we make, the more popular we are, the more donations will come, the more prizes will be available, the more motivation for creating more software etc. etc.”

You can also support the developers by purchasing the games here on Itch, Steam, the Google Play Store, or various game consoles.

Great to see new games for AmigaOS 4!

    AmigaOS 4 Monthly Roundup – July 2025

    Greetings,

Welcome to a new post here on the Old School Game Blog!

Today, it is time for another edition of the AmigaOS 4 Monthly Roundup, where we will be looking into what has been happening in the community during July.

Even though it is summer time in the Northern hemisphere, there has been a surprisingly large amount of activity on several fronts.

I don’t want to spoil any news here in the introduction, so let’s get cracking with the roundup!

    Software News

July started off with version 5.21 of AmiSSL being released. As mentioned in earlier editions of the AmigaOS 4 Monthly Roundup, the AmiSSL project is a collaborative effort to develop a port of OpenSSL in a shared library for Amiga-based systems. The download is available here. If you are interested in the SDK, it can be found here. It is a must-have if you use AmigaOS 4 to browse the web!

Those of you enjoying pixel art will probably be thrilled to read that version 2.9 WIP of GrafX2 is available for download from OS4Depot, thanks to the work by Kas1e and smarkusg.

I did write about this version last month, but a new one appeared on the depot some time later, so I believe there have been some changes. Either way, I highly recommend downloading and checking it out; it is a great program.

A new version of the lightweight and powerful text editor Lite XL has been released for AmigaOS 4.1. This time it is version 2.1.8r1.

The port is being maintained by George Sokianos, a.k.a Walkero. The program itself was created by Francesco Abbate and the Lite XL team.

George Sokianos writes as follows about the new release on his Ko-fi page:

This new version is the first one that uses SDL3, the latest version of the SDL framework that powers it. Unfortunately, with that, there comes some slowdown in the editor that is visible with an increased CPU usage and having the scrolling and animations being slower. I put great effort the past 3 weeks profiling the code and providing all the necessary information to the original Lite XL team, as well as Capehill who is responsible for the SDL3 port to AmigaOS 4, and BeWorld who does the same for MorphOS.

If you’re interested in getting hold of the new version, it can be freely downloaded from OS4Depot via the link below:

    https://os4depot.net/?function=showfile&file=utility/text/edit/litexl2.lha

Quite some time ago, I published the article OS4Depot Adventure – Part 2, where I looked into random games on OS4Depot. Here I made the discovery of an interesting game… It was part of a small bundle called Crap Games Vol. 8. Spot from Up Rough! has released 21 such compilations of software he has ported to AmigaOS 4. As it turns out, not all games included in the bundles are bad, since there are some gems in between! Hence, PC Maziacs. Due to the game itself being quite good (in my opinion), I felt it needed its own upload to become more visible and accessible. On Amigans.net, I received Spot’s permission to do this, so here it is, repackaged and with a new icon, hehe. 😀

PC Maziacs is a remake created by S. Romero for Windows and Linux in 2002.

Please click on the link below to visit the webpage of the project:

    https://www.sromero.org/wiki/spectrum/proyectos/pcmaziacs

    New mode

Being a remake, the game has an old-school mode where you can play the game like it was back in the day. It also has a modern mode with updated graphics.

    Old-school mode

The game takes place in a randomly generated maze. Your goal is to find gold and then exit the level. To find the route to the gold, you can lean on specific icons of human prisoners in the maze, and then parts of the route will light up for a limited time. You can also find food that increases health, as well as swords. Beware, though, there are monsters everywhere, and if you lose the fight, you are dead. If you are uncertain where you are (it is a maze after all), you can press M to see a map.

If you want to check it out, please click on the link below.

On July 25th, DRIDI released version 9.0Final of the Arabic Console Device.

(version 9.0Final) “Version education&legacy” finished (for me) – CTRL_P for Parallel, launch a CLI[ArabicLauncher]. Don’t use RUN command and if changing the priority do that for the CLI process before launching the command. No more use “ArabicLauncher ARABCONX:” with a parameter, because CTRL_P do that. For changing the priority of the editor: “ChangeTaskPri 1 process=8” and in process 8 do: “Stevie/src/stevie” (put it in C: if you prefer).

    Furthermore:

Add additional entries (duplicate lines) in L/mountlista i.e ARABCON4: to ARABCON9: are allowed.

Picture lent from GOG – https://www.gog.com/en/game/doom_64

Now for some exciting gaming news… Doom 64 has been ported to AmigaOS 4! This is a special version of Doom developed and published by Midway Games for the Nintendo 64 back in the 1990s. According to Wikipedia, it is “(…) the second spin-off in id Software’s Doom series after Final Doom (1996), and the fourth game in the series overall.” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doom_64).

Doom 64 EX+ is a community-driven continuation of Samuel “Kaiser” Villarreal’s original Doom 64 EX project. The primary goal of Doom 64 EX+ is to faithfully recreate the classic Nintendo 64 experience while incorporating modern features, extensive modding capabilities, and performance enhancements.

OS4Depot lists the author of the port and game to AOS4 fans from Mars… hehe.. 😀

Now, this is something completely new to the platform. George Sokianos, a.k.a. Walkero, has released a program called AuraFly! According to the author, this tool helps you focus better and feel more relaxed by using the sounds of nature. It lets you mix up to three different sounds to create the perfect escape when you need it. This sounds brilliant to me, and I’m looking forward to checking it out further, since I often listen to ambience while working.

Kyvos, the new QEMU frontend, is released!

Here is the description straight from the author, George Sokianos a.k.a. Walkero:

Kyvos is a user-friendly frontend for Qemu, designed to streamline the creation of AmigaOS 4 and MorphOS emulated environments on Linux, macOS, and Windows. Kyvos comes with a comprehensive 100-page manual, offering step-by-step guidance through the installation process, complete with detailed screenshots. It also explores Qemu incompatibilities, ensuring a smooth experience—don’t forget to check the FAQ section.

    BOING, a 10th Anniversary Issue

Boing Attitude never does things halfway, and this time, it’s going even bigger! You’ll get a 104-page issue, instead of the usual 52… And BOING is not only in French, but also in English! Oh my gosh! No, you’re not dreaming: you’ll have 104 pages all about the Amiga in every possible form to read. Why? Because a tenth anniversary is something to celebrate, but also, and especially, because in 2025, the Amiga turns forty!

In this issue, you’ll find an exclusive interview with Timothy De Groote, the new head of Hyperion Entertainment. This is his first public statement since taking over as head of the publisher of AmigaOS 3.2 and 4.1, and we asked him all the questions—even the tough ones (justice, THE A1200…). There’s also a feature on Mirari, the new PowerPC motherboard designed for AmigaOS 4.1 and MorphOS 3.20. We’ve also tested the A600GS and even compared it to the THEA500 Mini. Hot off the press, we’ve also played the brand-new Krogharr. And of course, the demo scene is not forgotten with an interview with the Batman Group and the legendary Moby… El Mobo!

Of course, there are tons of other articles to read in what is the largest print magazine fully dedicated to the Amiga in at least twenty years. So, what are you waiting for to join us?!

BOING is a magazine dedicated to the Amiga computer, whether original (“classic”) or new generation. It deals with all its variations or rather variants ;): AmigaOS (1.x, 2.x, 3.x), AmigaOS 4.1, MorphOS, AROS, and ApolloOS.

BOING, the Amiga in all its variants!

Lite XL – Lightweight and Powerful Text-Editing – Version 2.1.8r1 for AmigaOS 4.1 Released!

    Hi there,

Thanks for visiting my blog. 🙂

A new version of the lightweight and powerful text-editor Lite XL has been released for AmigaOS 4.1. This time it is version 2.1.68r1.

The port is being maintained by George Sokianos a.k.a Walkero.

If you’re interested in getting the hold of the new version, it can be freely download from OS4Depot via the link below:

    https://os4depot.net/?function=showfile&file=utility/text/edit/litexl2.lha

Thanks again for visiting my blog! See you in another post here on Old School Game Blog!

    Best regards,

    Puni
