for special issue of the #AmericanEthnologist
Deadline: 01/02/2023
The editor-in-chief (Prof. Susanna Trnka) and an editorial intern (Eleanor Pollard) selected 16 articles, plus one poem, highlighting contributions that speak to current activist struggles involving a range of issues, including anti-racism and Indigenous rights, environmentalism and animal-human relations, gender and feminism, reproductive rights including abortion, labor union organizing, and LGBTQ+ visibility.
#AmericanEthnologist journal just put together an #openaccess (for the next three months) virtual issue on the theme: "Uprisings: Unsettling Landscapes / Activist Struggles." The collection celebrates the people around the world who have taken to the streets, the courts, the internet, living rooms, basements, and alleyways to protest discrimination and oppression.
