The wording is ambiguous.
#AmericanCheese refers to a specific type of cheese: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_cheese
#American #cheese, as in cheese exported from the #USA can be many different things.
As a USian, I would up my estimation of any cheesy product that omits the American cheese in the #wikipedia article.
Things that keep me up at night:
What does Wallace think about American Cheese and Velveeta? Would he be abhorred by it? Think it’s candy?
Certainly these are very important matters to be mulling over in my mind.

Now, I do feel strongly that #LandOLakes #AmericanCheese is the only good version of said fake cheese.
And, I do feel strongly that what #MarketBasket tried to pass off as Land O Lakes American Cheese slices in 2018 (& apparently continues to do) was an absolute lie, an affront to the senses, & an insult to their customers’ intelligence.
I have since stopped going to said grocery store - partially - due to this nonsense.

Apologies up front for the Twitter reference & link. But, I find this amazingly hilarious. I happened to stumble into the hellscape while searching for something or other, only to discover that a tweet of mine from 2018 had picked up a couple recent replies.
The convo is about the quality of #AmericanCheese (which we all know is not actually cheese - but it’s really some of the best cheese for burgers) being sold at a #NewEngland grocery store called #MarketBasket.
Does that matter?
