National Ambulance Service workers are taking industrial action this week as a result of the HSE’s failure to update pay scales as recommended by an independent report; with work-to-rule measures implemented today to be followed by a 24-hour strike tomorrow. The GMB union and the RCN called off Monday’s strikes in Wales after being offered an extra 3 percent in pay, taking it overall to just 7 percent, and then offered to do the same in England.
