$?|¡† ƒ|4? (52x60) is an art installation that reinvents the classic “split-flap” display technology, familiar to many from train station arrival and departure boards, in a contemporary and artistic format. The installation creates an imaginative universe where the audience can step inside and let themselves be surrounded by sounds, mechanical movements, and abstract animations. The project explores multimedia experiences at the intersection between the analog and the digital.

Premiered at Børneklang #klangfestival november 2025

Recorded with a insta360x4 camera and Zoom H8 with ambisonic microphone on November 8, 2025 at Børnekulturhus A'mar in Copenhagen.

For best playback:
- Use a chromium based browser (Vivaldi, Brave, Chrome) or the YouTube app.
- Use headphones (binaural sound).
- Disable "stable volume" to avoid YT's audio compression
- Watch in 4K in order to see the designs on the flaps
- More around and explore the room with your mouse or arrow keys.
- Zoom in with 2 fingers on trackpad (depending on browser)
- The audio is rendered binaurally in real-time and it matches your viewing position :)
