Is fostering online crackpottery a sort of Distributed Espionage strategy?
Look at the case below, where some nutballs developed a nutball theory and then proceeded to garnish that nutballery with actual national security information that they sleuthed up on their spare time.
Now consider anti-vaxxers, flat-earthers, Qanon-ers, etc. How easy would it be to covertly direct these groups of belligerent far-right wingnuts at something, as a way to enact espionage or sabotage?
It's already shown itself "useful" as an assassination tool, and even when openly directing the crackpots to kill, there were no consequences (Trump).
Yesterday, I learned tamales aren't finger food when I picked one up and tried to bite through the wrapping. The restaurant staff was very kind in letting me know I was doing it wrong. I will be back for more.
