I call it the 5/10/20 law - the world seems little changed from five years ago, seems mildly dated after ten years, and becomes incomprehensible after twenty. I think the Pandemic also served to shift social adoption of certain technologies by about ten years (e.g., remote working would have been about where we are now by 2030 in it's absence).
