I read #AlyssaCole An Unconditional Freedom. The book was fantastic, of course. Cole is so good at writing rich, complex characters. The context of the civil war, and the brutality and cruelty but also the refusal to be crushed, were so moving to read at this political moment. But the author note at the end about how hard it was to write during the 2018 political context was just heartbreaking, because things have escalated so much. #bookstodon #amreading #romancelandia
