hello from #alpinelinux.
it's running well from a spare microSD card. installed today.
I thought my days of #linux tinkering were over. apparently not.
Today might be the day to tinker with Alpine + XFCE and see how well I can get on with it.
Those are unrealistically optimistic expectations of both the politics and the legislative procedure. This #CaliforniaLaw is nigh-on certain to come into effect as-is, come 2027-01-01.

Nice, snappy little machine with a fantabulous screen. It's ancient (Ivy Bridge i5-3230M!) but still very usable for light duty computing.
This machine will probably live in the garage so I can stop using my big, "good" laptop for connecting to OBD ports and flashing crap and whatnot.
Hype for the Future 139H → Alpine Linux: What to Expect
Introduction Alpine is a distribution of the Linux kernel with modern 32-bit and 64-bit variants and is one of a few rare distributions of Linux to continue to fully support 32-bit systems and associated configurations. Whether with the 32-bit or 64-bit installations of the distribution, the Alpine Linux distribution is an optimal solution for lightweight desktops and especially for servers and virtual machines. As a basic implementation of the Linux kernel, default implementations--even at […]
