Paura nel primo pomeriggio di ieri a Monte Gallo, dove una escursionista svizzera di 51 anni è stata aggredita da cinque cani di grossa taglia mentre si trovava nella zona sommitale del rilievo.
L’allarme è scattato intorno alle 14.00, quando la Centrale Operativa 118 Palermo-Trapani ha attivato la stazione locale del Corpo Nazionale Soccorso Alpino e Speleologico per un intervento d’urgenza. Le condizioni della donna sono apparse subito gravi: presentava profonde ferite da morso su diverse parti del corpo e una significativa emorragia.
Due squadre di tecnici del Soccorso Alpino sono partite rapidamente da Palermo, mentre veniva richiesto anche il supporto aereo dell’Aeronautica Militare. In particolare, è intervenuto un elicottero dell’82° Centro SAR del 15° Stormo, decollato dalla base di Trapani-Birgi, per garantire un recupero tempestivo.

La donna trasportata in ospedale in eliccottero
Durante le operazioni, il velivolo ha imbarcato un tecnico di elisoccorso presso il 4° Reparto Volo della Polizia di Stato, per poi dirigersi verso la vetta di Monte Gallo. La donna è stata raggiunta contemporaneamente dalle squadre a terra e dall’elicottero. Dopo una prima valutazione sanitaria sul posto, è stata recuperata mediante verricello e trasportata in sicurezza.
L’elisoccorso ha quindi trasferito la ferita presso l’aeroporto di Boccadifalco, dove ad attenderla c’era un’ambulanza del 118. Da lì è stata condotta all’Ospedale Ingrassia per le cure necessarie.
Fondamentale la sinergia tra i diversi enti coinvolti, tra cui la Centrale Operativa 118 Palermo-Trapani e il 4° Reparto Volo della Polizia di Stato, che hanno collaborato per portare a termine con successo un intervento complesso e delicato.
Resta ora da chiarire la provenienza dei cani e le circostanze che hanno portato all’aggressione.

Hiker attacked by five dogs in Monte Gallo: rescued by helicopter

Fear gripped the early afternoon yesterday in Monte Gallo, where a 51-year-old Swiss hiker was attacked by five large dogs while she was in the summit area of the ridge.

The alarm was raised around 2 p.m., when the 118 Palermo-Trapani Operational Center activated the local station of the National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps for an urgent intervention. The woman’s condition appeared immediately serious: she presented deep bite wounds on various parts of her body and significant bleeding.

Two teams of Alpine Rescue technicians quickly departed from Palermo, while support from the Italian Air Force was also requested. Specifically, an helicopter from the 82nd SAR Center of the 15th Stormo, took off from Trapani-Birgi base, to ensure a timely recovery.

During the operations, the aircraft embarked an air rescue technician at the 4th Flight Squadron of the Italian Police, before heading towards the summit of Monte Gallo. The woman was reached simultaneously by the ground teams and the helicopter. After a preliminary health assessment on site, she was retrieved using a winch and safely transported.

The air rescue then transferred the injured woman to the Boccadifalco airport, where an 118 ambulance was waiting. From there, she was taken to the Ingrassia Hospital for necessary treatment.

Crucial was the synergy between the various entities involved, including the 118 Palermo-Trapani Operational Center and the 4th Flight Squadron of the Italian Police, which collaborated to successfully complete a complex and delicate intervention.

The origin of the dogs and the circumstances that led to the attack now need to be clarified.

Agi: Un escursionista italiano muore in Austria travolto da una valanga

AGI - Un escursionista italiano di 41 anni, Federico Giubilato, ha perso la vita nel tardo pomeriggio di ieri sulle montagne del Tirolo austriaco. L'uomo, residente a Bassano del Grappa (Vicenza), è stato investito da una massa nevosa mentre praticava sci fuoripista nella zona di Hochfügen, nella Zillertal. L'incidente si è verificato durante la discesa dalla vetta dell'Hoher Marchkopf, a circa cento metri di distanza dalla cima.
Giubilato era accompagnato da un amico di 36 anni quando, improvvisamente, si è staccata una valanga con un fronte di 250 metri. Mentre il compagno di escursione è rimasto travolto solo parzialmente, riportando una ferita alla mano, il 41enne è stato completamente sepolto dalla neve. È stato proprio l'amico a lanciare l'allarme, permettendo l'intervento immediato di due elicotteri e delle squadre del Soccorso Alpino locale.
Il tragico esito dei soccorsi
I soccorritori hanno individuato lo sciatore a una profondità di 1,6 metri. Nonostante le prolungate manovre di rianimazione effettuate sul posto, i medici non hanno potuto fare altro che constatare il decesso dell'uomo. Al momento del distacco, nella zona il pericolo valanghe era attestato al livello 3 su una scala di 5.
Il profilo della vittima
Federico Giubilato avrebbe compiuto 42 anni nella giornata di domani. Laureato in Ingegneria Meccanica all'Università di Padova, era un profondo conoscitore e appassionato di montagna e sport estremi. Dai suoi profili social emerge la figura di un uomo che aveva già affrontato sfide fisiche importanti: in passato era stato vittima di un grave incidente, documentato da scatti che lo ritraevano in ospedale su una sedia a rotelle durante il percorso di recupero.
Le autorità austriache hanno avviato i rilievi di rito per accertare con precisione le cause che hanno innescato il movimento del fronte nevoso.

An Italian hiker, Federico Giubilato, 41, died his life in the late afternoon yesterday on the mountains of Tyrol, Austria. The man, a resident of Bassano del Grappa (Vicenza), was struck by a snow mass while practicing off-piste skiing in the Hochfügen area, in the Zillertal. The accident occurred during the descent from the summit of Hoher Marchkopf, approximately one hundred meters from the peak.

Giubilato was accompanied by a 36-year-old friend when, suddenly, a snowslide with a front of 250 meters broke loose. While the fellow hiker was partially engulfed, sustaining an injury to his hand, the 41-year-old was completely buried in snow. It was the friend who sounded the alarm, allowing for immediate intervention by two helicopters and local Alpine Rescue teams.

The tragic outcome of the rescue efforts

Rescuers located the skier at a depth of 1.6 meters. Despite prolonged resuscitation efforts carried out on the spot, the doctors could only confirm the man’s death. At the time of the slide, the avalanche danger in the area was rated at level 3 on a scale of 5.

The victim's profile

Federico Giubilato would have turned 42 tomorrow. A graduate in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Padua, he was a deep connoisseur and passionate about the mountains and extreme sports. From his social media profiles, the image of a man emerges who had already faced significant physical challenges: in the past, he had been the victim of a serious accident, documented by photos showing him in hospital on a wheelchair during his recovery.

Austrian authorities have begun routine investigations to accurately determine the causes that triggered the movement of the snow front.

AGI - Una decina di scialpinisti, stando alle prime frammentarie informazioni, è stata travolta da una valanga in Alto Adige e almeno due sono stati estratti senza vita. Lo hanno riferito all'AGI i soccorritori che sono ancora presenti sul luogo dove è avvenuto il distacco. La zona interessata dalle operazioni di soccorso è Racines, precisamente il Tallone Grande. Cinque gli elicotteri impiegati nelle ricerche di eventuali persone rimaste sotto la neve. 
Il distacco
Il distacco della valanga è avvenuto circa alle ore 11.30 sulla 'Hohe Ferse' (Tallone Grande), montagna di 2.669 metri sul crinale tra la val Ridanna e la val di Racines (Flading-Vallettina). La massa nevosa ha travolto gli scialpinisti a circa 2.300 metri.
Massiccio l'intervento da parte degli uomini del Soccorso alpino ma anche delle forze dell'ordine. Nel frattempo sono stati allertati gli ospedali della zona, Vipiteno ma soprattutto Bressanone, Merano e Bolzano. Allertato anche il centro operativo di Innsbruck in Austria.

Rescuers reported to AGI that they are still present at the site of the slide. The area affected by the rescue operations is Racines, specifically the Grande Tallone. Five helicopters are being used in the search for anyone who may be trapped under the snow.

The Slide
The avalanche occurred around 11:30 AM on the ‘Hohe Ferse’ (Grande Tallone), a 2,669-meter mountain on the ridge between the Val Ridanna and Val di Racines (Flading-Vallettina). The snow mass overwhelmed the ski mountaineers at an altitude of approximately 2,300 meters.

The intervention was massive, with the help of Alpine Rescue teams and law enforcement. Hospitals in the area, including Vipiteno but especially Brixen, Merano, and Bolzano, have been alerted. Innsbruck, Austria's operational center, has also been notified.

Momenti di apprensione nella tarda mattinata di domenica sul Monte Palmeto, nel territorio di Terrasini. Una escursionista statunitense di 71 anni è rimasta ferita durante un’escursione lungo il sentiero di Mircene, nel versante nord-est della montagna.
L’allarme è scattato quando la donna, che faceva parte di un gruppo di escursionisti, è scivolata durante la discesa procurandosi un importante trauma a un arto inferiore.
L’intervento del Soccorso Alpino
La richiesta di aiuto è arrivata al Numero Unico di Emergenza 112, che ha smistato la chiamata all’Servizio 118. La centrale operativa 118 Palermo-Trapani ha quindi attivato il Corpo Nazionale Soccorso Alpino e Speleologico (CNSAS), referente per gli interventi di soccorso in montagna, in ambienti impervi e in grotta.
Due squadre di tecnici del Soccorso Alpino e Speleologico Siciliano sono partite immediatamente per raggiungere l’escursionista.

Moments of anxiety in the late morning on Sunday on Mount Palmeto, in the territory of Terrasini. A 71-year-old American hiker was injured during a hike along the Mircene trail, on the northeast slope of the mountain.

The alarm was triggered when the woman, who was part of a group of hikers, slipped during the descent, sustaining a serious injury to a lower limb.

The Alpine Rescue Intervention

The request for help arrived at the Unified Emergency Number 112, which routed the call to Service 118. The Palermo-Trapani 118 operational center then activated the National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps (CNSAS), the reference for rescue operations in the mountains, in rugged environments and in caves.

Two teams of technicians from the Sicilian Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps immediately departed to reach the hiker.
