Jürgen HubertI have recently finished the first draft for "Old Goatfoot: 100 Devil-tales from German folklore", and I am now looking for alpha readers.
Alpha readers evaluate the rough draft of a manuscript and help identify major structural problems so that the manuscript can be improved in later iterations. Thus, I am looking for people with a certain level of expertise:
- People with a strong background in writing, especially in academic/scholarly writing (while this book is not primarily intended for academics, I want it to be useful for academics nonetheless)
- People with a strong background in folklore - you don't need to have academic training in this field, but having written about folklore, created podcasts on the topic etc. helps.
Alpha readers are expected to read and evaluate the manuscript (currently at 105K words) within four weeks after receiving it. Those who provide useful feedback will be sent a free paperback copy of the finished book.
If you want to participate, drop me a line! And if you feel you don't meet those qualifications, don't fret - there will be a "beta reader" phase later on where the manuscript will be evaluated from a fan perspective.
