We went for a hike today, in one of the county’s bigger parks. It was a bit muddy still, because of the recent rain, but it was very nice to be out there and not in one of the smaller local parks where it feels like I probably know every square foot.

Ran into a dear friend having a snack on the trail during my hike.
Santa Clara Valley, far off in the distance. You can see downtown San Jose in the first picture, far away. The second image has a view of Campbell, again off in the distance.
Had a good hike this afternoon at Almaden Quicksilver. Lots of wildflowers and temps weren’t too hot. Saw a few pollinators too. The blue flowers are called Blue Dicks. Insert juvenile joke here. The white flowers that look like lamps are called Fairy-lanterns (aka globe lilies). The other white flowers are lupins. No idea what kind of butterfly that is.
