Il Tempo: Attentato a Trump, ecco le immagini dell'attacco | VIDEO
Esce d'improvviso da una porta con un fucile in mano e corre attraverso il metal detector, poi punta l'arma contro un'agente di sicurezza ed esce dall'inquadratura. È quanto si vede da un nuovo video, pubblicato dagli inquirenti e diffuso da Fox News, che ritrae il giovane Cole Allen mentre compie l'attentato durante la Cena dei corrispondenti alla Casa Bianca l'obiettivo ultimo di colpire e uccidere il presidente Usa Donald Trump. Il fatto, accaduto lo scorso 26 aprile a Washington, è stato quindi ripreso dalle telecamere a circuito chiuso che forniscono ulteriori dettagli sulla dinamica del colpo.

Secondo il ministro della Giustizia ad interim degli Stati Uniti, Todd Blanche, l'imputato è riuscito a correre per circa 18 metri lungo il corridoio dell'hotel prima di essere placcato. Nei documenti dell'accusa, le autorità affermano che un agente è stato colpito al giubbotto antiproiettile da un singolo colpo sparato dal sospettato. Lo stesso agente "ha estratto la sua arma di servizio e ha sparato più volte" contro Allen, che non è stato colpito dai proiettili. Sempre il Dipartimento Usa fa sapere che il filmato integrale mostra anche lo stesso Allen mentre "visita la zona" dell'Hoyel il giorno prima del fatto e la procura sostiene che il sospetto avesse effettuato il check-in in hotel come ospite il giorno prima dell'attentato.

According to U.S. Attorney ad interim Todd Blanche, the defendant was able to run approximately 18 meters down the hotel corridor before being subdued. In the prosecution documents, authorities state that an agent was struck by a single bullet fired by the suspect. The same agent “retrieved his service weapon and fired multiple times” at Allen, who was not hit by the projectiles. The U.S. Department also states that the full footage shows the same Allen “visiting the area” of the hotel the day before the incident, and the prosecution argues that the suspect had checked into the hotel as a guest the day before the attack.
