@acf I’ve been working on setup, to completely get off my old MBP. Just need to transfer over some app settings (and FONTS) and I’ll be done enough to get by. I’ll be keeping my little SuperDuper backup, just in case. And a whole list of apps that seem optional at this point.
I’m transitioning from bash to zsh (finally). And doing my best to make Emacs my default editor for #allthethings after many years of depending on commercial IDE’s.
I think WAFRN could actually be a "Facebook-killer". It has a lot of the things that FB buried/discontinued (blog posts (they call them "notes") being the biggest thing for me. The rest of the Fediverse handles a lot of what's missing (PixelFed, Lemmy, Loops, etc.) from most people's social networking rounds.
I think WAFRN does Mastodon better than Mastodon does (the interface is FAR more newbie-friendly on WAFRN, for example) without deliberately cannibalizing what Mastodon set out to do.
WAFRN has the ability to be any user's social networking hub, and it's just getting started.
Now, if I can get my hands on an Android app for it, that would be grand.
Probably like you, I am very EVERYTHING right now. Many thoughts & intense feelings about my country/governance. I'm achingly sad bc a favorite teacher died. I'm astonished & relieved bc I'm caught up on invoicing—1st time in years! Some projects are done or almost, which clears my mind. I have an plan for getting more art out. I think our work at the museum will provide respite, conservation & community, nourishing a better next month, year, decade, century.
