Charles Lutwidge Dodgson taught mathematics at Christ Church, Oxford, for twenty-six years. He wrote textbooks defending Euclid and treatises on symbolic logic. The children's book he is now famous for is, when you read it as an adult, an extended joke about base-numbering systems, non-Euclidean geometry, and abstract identity, smuggled inside a story about a small girl falling down a hole.

National holiday, yay! Time to get some carving done. Showed my little sibling the hobby of carving stamps last week and they were so hooked that they bought everything they needed to start and on Tuesday we both were carving like maniacs then ☺️ that’s when I made these stamps.

I’m working on a whole Alice in Wonderland linoprint series and have the goal to complete at least two stamps today. Let’s hope I can get it done! These are test prints of the Cheshire Cat and the white rabbit. Working on the Caterpillar today and… not sure yet about the next stamp. These are all made to fit 3,5 x 2,5” cards ( #ArtistTradingCards).

Uykucu falan değil, hayvancağızın kış uykusuna yatma zamanı gelmiş, ama arkadaşları yüzünden uyuyamıyor!

Neyse ki çay partisinin sonunda Victoria dönemi çocukları gibi kış uykusuna yatabilsin diye onu çaydanlığa sokmaya çalışıyorlar! ツ

Kitabının notlarından öğrendiğim ilginç şeylerden biri de eserin yazıldığı Victoria dönemine ait normal ve anlaşılabilir olan, fakat günümüzde sanki komiklik olsun diye yazılmış gibi duran bir şey de şapkacının çay partisinde uykucu farenin zorla çaydanlığa tıkılmasıydı!

Oysa Victoria dönemi çocukları bu ağaç faresini evcil hayvan olarak beslerlermiş ve kış uykusuna yatan bir hayvan olduğu için de onu uyusun diye evdeki eski çaydanlıkların içine koyarlarmış!
