In the late 1970s, Alexandria was gripped by whispers of a strange story that spread through the city’s quiet coastal streets. People spoke about a mysterious girl dressed in white who appeared late at night to a taxi driver and then vanished inside El Shatby’s cemetery gates without a trace. What began as an urban legend inspired the movie Ale’etraf Alakheerlater, directed by Anwar El-Shennawy. The film starred Nour El-Sherif and Nelly, where love, death, and the supernatural collided in one of Egyptian cinema’s boldest stories.

Alexie Mae Caimoso Brooks of the Philippines won Miss Eco International 2025 at the Al Zahraa Ballroom of Hilton Green Plaza in Alexandria, Egypt on April 19, 2025. A total of 36 candidates competed for the title.

On May 22, 2026, Brooks crowned her successor Palmira Ruiz of Mexico at the Residential Hall of the Helnan Antoniades Palace Hotel in Alexandria. A total of 45 candidates competed for the title.
