"The Sound of Utopia - Musicians in the Time of Stalin" by #MichelKrielaars
Focuses on the lives of 10 different composers and musicians during the era of socialist realism and totalitarian control in the Soviet Union. Lots of interesting and chilling anecdotes. I learned a ton of new stuff as my knowledge of soviet era classical music was quite nonexistent. I was only familiar with #Prokofiev and #Rostropovich beforehand. Will have to dig up #AlexanderMosolov's futurist compositions for a listen.
