@alcinado2072 – vor 4 Jahren Interesting fact : Rachmaninov composed this piece only after a black and white reproduction of Böcklin’s painting. When he saw the real painting some years later, he said that the colors weren’t at all how he had imagined them. If he had seen the real painting first, he would have composed this symphonic poem totally differently.
