The Metalhead.club team did a pretty good job organizing the #AlbumOddTheYear threads. Who were the brains behind that? I am pretty sure @Kitty was involved.

It's a double @derthomas theme day today as it's also his choice for the #AlbumOddTheYear category. The category is the Fuck Yeah !! Award quite simply an album that immediately grabbed you by the scruff of the neck assaulted your senses and made you involuntarily go "Ahhhh Fuck Yeah" . I like the 'Discovery of the Year' category from @HailsandAles for the #AlbumOddTheYear 2023, even though I must admit that I didn't try out many long-established acts this year that I haven't already heard before.

For me it has to be August Burns Red's latest album (and only one in my collection), Death Below, which I bought on the strength of the cover art alone.

My nomination for day 5 of #AlbumOddtheYear, in keeping with today's critera from @derthomas for a band formed before 1990 with a 2023 release is...

Prong! State of Emergency has to be one of their tightest and most diverse offerings to date #OldFartsStillGotit

Here's a banger to get started with: https://youtu.be/smATksUfCF4?si=c4T1SbgZrrAXAUcH
