#AlbertaElection2023 entirely ignoring #ClimateChange while #Alberta burned and #YYC experienced the thickest smoke of our entire existence was an omission so glaring it was reported all over the world. That's us making the wrong kind of news again & it took both of our major parties to do it. Speaks poorly about our perceived understanding or care about Climate's severity/urgency

Mandatory climate policy around the #CarbonTax was again used as a political cudgel this election. Having survived quixotic constitutional challenges #AlbertaElection2023 could've been the time for a fulsome debate on provincial rather than federal control of Alberta's carbon tax revenues. That didn't happen.

🧵 Looking forward to our next show with #SethKlein to apply #ClimateEmergencyUnit's 6 Markers of the #ClimateEmergency (based on his book) to what we saw during #AlbertaElection2023. We can't get better if we don't even know where we are.

Couldn't agree more with this piece by Jeremy Appel.
"If you’re constantly attacking your opponent’s character but offering policies eerily similar to theirs, don’t expect to sway enough people to win an election. We’re electing politicians, not Saints."
