Went for an evening walk in my dodgy childhood neighbourhood.

Ute roars round the corner. Male arm hanging out window. Oh here we go, I think. As a petite Eurasian woman I've had my share of car heckling, wolf whistling and street harassment, which still happens in my 40s.

He leans out. The car is decked with tinsel. "MERRY CHRISTMAS!" he shouts. I wave to his rear view mirror.
