“Le parole di Giorgia Meloni sono parole in libertà, perché far credere agli italiani che davvero stupratori, spacciatori e pedofili saranno rimessi in libertà e non andranno in carcere se vince il no. Significa veramente raccontare frottole al Paese“. Così il presidente del Movimento Cinque Stelle, Giuseppe Conte, a margine di un incontro a Torino sul referendum.
“La realtà – afferma Conte – è che invece la politica vuole assolutamente sopravanzare la magistratura e questo è l’unico scopo di questa riforma costituzionale: rivendicare il primato della politica. La politica deve esprimere forza e dignità. E lo deve fare condannando l’attacco degli Stati Uniti all’Iran e la violazione del diritto internazionale, condannando il genocidio a Gaza, condannando l’attacco in Venezuela e anche assicurando alla giustizia internazionale Al Masri. Quella è la politica che può rivendicare un primato, non la politica che vuole mettere al riparo il governo e gli amici dalle inchieste della magistratura”, aggiunge Conte.

“The reality – Conte states – is that politics absolutely wants to surpass the judiciary, and this is the only goal of this constitutional reform: to reclaim the supremacy of politics. Politics must express strength and dignity. And it must do so by condemning the attack by the United States on Iran and the violation of international law, by condemning the genocide in Gaza, by condemning the attack in Venezuela and also by ensuring that Al Masri is brought before international justice. That is the politics that can claim a supremacy, not the politics that wants to shelter the government and its friends from judicial investigations,” Conte adds.

Oltre agli autori, interverranno figure di primo piano della magistratura e della politica italiana, da anni in prima linea nella lotta contro le mafie e per la trasparenza democratica: Nino Di Matteo (sostituito procuratore nazionale antimafia e già consigliere togato al Csm); Roberto Scarpinato (ex procuratore generale di Palermo e oggi senatore); Giulia Sarti (già presidente Commissione Giustizia Camera dei deputati).
