The #RSF, after taking over #AlJazirah in December, are now in control of #Sennar state. #BlueNile state is isolated and #Gedaref is close at hand. These new frontlines reach the Ethiopian border.

The #RSF capture of #AlJazirah was a blow to morale, but the loss of #Sennar state is a disaster of yet another scale. Dinder is contested - although now under RSF control - and allied rebel groups might give the RSF a harder time on this new front from Al Fau to the Ethiopian border. The #SAF also made some progress in Omdurman, recapturing a neighbourhood in the West of the city recently.

#AlJazirah and #Sennar are or were the economic and agricultural centre of the country. Their loss together with the ruin of #Khartoum means that the Sudanese people should brace for ever more difficult times.

Those same formerly neutral groups are now joining the #SAF offensive on #AlJazirah, which, although dubbed "multi-pronged", is coming chiefly from the east. Smaller forces in the west and south are also engaging the #RSF however.

A warship, however, would be much less valuable for the #SAF at this moment of the war. The #RSF are nowhere near the coast and operations are either ongoing or soon to begin to reclaim parts of #Khartum and the state of #AlJazirah.
