Thought about reading The Reverse Centaur's Guide to Life After AI by Cory Doctorow and just… didn't, because I don't have to. The synopsis gives me enough to where I don't need to read the book.
Rolls eyes. I just want to know the chapter where all the marginalized people objecting to data centers because they don't have water and the artists objecting to LLM companies being bastards are called neoliberal purists.
> The Reverse Centaur’s Guide to Life After AI is not another anti-AI screed. Cory Doctorow uses AI in his work every day. As a creative person, he has no moral or dogmatic issue with AI—he thinks the technology is useful, even exciting, and full of potential.
No mention of comparing local LLMs trained on *your data you willingly give to it* to these goons that just steal your labor because rules suck bro! No mention of the harm these data centers are doing...
No wonder I deleted his RSS feed.
Also, found this, using his earlier writing to point out his right libertarian tendencies. Can people change? Certainly, and people change all the time, but I think this still holds up today. https://sensibletits.tumblr.com/archive
