"A future scenario for food, agriculture and forestry in a climate neutral EU"
Which roles do food, agriculture and forestry play in a climate neutral EU? Where are the challenges and potentials, and what is needed to realise these potentials?
Agora Agrar's first study envisions a future scenario where agriculture and forestry surpass previous expectations in advancing climate and sustainability goals. In the webinar, we will present our findings and respond to subsequent questions from participants.
The land use sectors of agriculture and forestry are vital for societal well-being. While pathways to climate neutrality are well defined for many economic sectors, there is currently no integrated analysis on how agriculture, forestry and food can contribute to achieving sustainability objectives within the EU.
Agora Agriculture’s study contributes to closing this gap by presenting a scenario for the land use sectors as part of the food system and the bioeconomy in a climate-neutral EU by mid-century. The study aims to provide insights into the future role of agriculture and forestry as part of the food system and the bioeconomy.
It also outlines policies that incentivise and value the contributions of agriculture and forestry to societal objectives and strengthen future-oriented land use sectors. In our webinar, we will first present the study and then respond to questions from the audience.
