Er zijn bands, en dan zijn er legendes. Agnostic Front valt in de tweede categorie, en op dinsdag 23 juni komen ze naar Het Podium om te laten zien waarom ze al meer dan vier decennia de onbetwiste heersers van de New York hardcore zijn.
Sinds 1982 scheuren Roger Miret en Vinnie Stigma als een bulldozer door de hardcore-scene. Geen enkele band komt in de buurt van hun authenticiteit en oprechtheid. Dit is hardcore die letterlijk op de straten van New York is geboren. Dit hoor je terug in elke song, in elke brul, in elke noot. Agnostic Front legde de basis voor true New York hardcore én hielp crossover thrash uit de grond te stampen.
De band blijft op hun nieuwste album Echoes in Eternity precies doen waar ze goed in zijn: meedogenloze agressie, sociaalkritische teksten en een sound die nog altijd net zo hard binnenkomt als vier decennia geleden.
Als support: LIES! uit Groningen/Emmen, nuchtere Noorderlingen die sinds hun comeback in 2022 niets anders doen dan vooruit beuken met metallic hardcore. Ze toerden in 2025 met Madball, Speed en Guilt Trip op de Rebellion Tour en hun plaat Mind Pollution scoorde een 9/10 in Ox-Fanzine. Betonharde songs, brute energie en een DIY-drive die perfect past bij een avond met Agnostic Front.
Wees gewaarschuwd, want dit is de real deal. Agnostic Front heeft niets te bewijzen, maar doet het toch elke keer weer. Dinsdag 23 juni staat Hoogeveen even in het epicentrum van de hardcore-scene. Zorg dat je erbij bent, want dit soort buitenkansjes komen niet vaak voor.

Traveling #PunkRock outdoor live #music #festival series cancelled after organizer's support of #DJT called into question, and boycotts initiated before #PunkInThePark dates in Pittsburgh PA; Orlando FL; and Vallejo, CA were pulled.
The two original remaining #DeadKennedys members who signed on to play said they were previously unaware of the promoter's support of the current President, but would perform anyway to honor their contract and not rip off ticket buyers.
Long estranged original DK vocalist Jello Biafra, who is no longer in the band stated "They’re taking the money $$$, and THEN pulling out?" he wrote in a statement to #Stereogum.
Other bands that were participating this year despite previous adverse #publicity included The Adicts & The Exploited from UK, #Fear, #LeftoverCrack, #AgnosticFront, The Queers, #Nekromantix, Manic Hispanic, Naked Aggression, Screeching Weasel and #Sissyfit.
#Punk In The Park had sucessfully managed many alt rock #concert events for several years before main organizer Cameron Collins' #Drumpf campaign donations became too large of a liability for acts that have in past participated in Brew Ha Ha Productions events. Last year #DropkickMurphys & #Dillinger4 jumped off the bill and made no secret their dissatisfaction with the promoter's #TrumpRegime support.
Previous #bands on fest stages run by the this promotor in past have included #RichKidsOnLSD #NOFX #StreetlightManifesto and #Pennywise at events like #PunkInDrublic, Summer Roots, Silverado Showdown, #CampAnarchy etc ...
