Every time I'm burning in project hell with hilarious deadlines, someone comes up telling me: but the agile manifesto was great! Thanks for the reminder, Jon *sigh*

Agile Manifesto turns 25 – just in time for vibe coding to test it

Interview: Co-author Jon Kern says AI coding tools amplify strengths and expose weaknesses

The Register

Is #Agile dead - or evolving for #AI collaboration?

⇨ Steve Jones (Capgemini) argues that human-centric principles don’t align with AI-native development.

⇨ Kent Beck suggests “augmented coding,” while AWS proposes shifting from sprint planning to Intent Design.

⇨ The reality? Forrester reports that 95% of organizations still rely on Agile.

So - does AI make the Agile Manifesto obsolete, or is Agile simply evolving for the agentic era?

Join us in celebrating 25 years of Agile! On this milestone anniversary of the Agile Manifesto, read a brief history of the Manifesto’s creation at Snowbird, Utah, told through participant recollections and the pivotal moments that shaped the four Agile values, 25 years later. Be sure to read to the end, as we take a look ahead to see where Agile might go next.

"Sprint goals."
An abomination, and in complete opposition with the #AgileManifesto.

Also: One of the most destructive inventions of all time. Instead of focusing software development on producing functioning software, "agile" software development completely turned to bureaucratic, futile, steering and faking of performance.

Kent Beck chia sẻ trong podcast gần đây rằng việc bỏ qua "tính linh hoạt" (optionality) trong phát triển phần mềm khiến chi phí tăng cao. Ông nhấn mạnh cần ưu tiên cân nhắc các lựa chọn để duy trì sự linh hoạt và hiệu quả lâu dài. #Agile #PhátTriểnPhầnMềm #KentBeck | #SoftwareDevelopment #AgileManifesto

I come from the world of the #AgileManifesto, #XP, #CleanCode and #TDD.
For me, software development is still a craft - with responsibility, diligence and an obligation to understand. AI tools can support this craft, but they must not replace it.

It is out of this tension that the Manifesto for AI-Augmented Software Craftsmanship emerged:

In my article, I take a closer look at the motivation behind it.

The #AgileManifesto for Software Development, and #ExtremeProgramming, in particular, have always valued

"Working Software over Comprehensive Documentation"

"That is, while there is value in the items on the right, we value the items on the left more."

Manifesto for Agile Software Development

We are uncovering better ways of developing software by doing it and helping others do it. These are our values and principles.
