This is the new Aged Care system. Clearly not working as it should, though possibly as it is intended i.e. to save the government money.

Please do tell us @HardBeingGreen + David Pocock, how does AI create value?
How does AI create value in cutting people off #agedcare + #NDIS ?

If datacenters are so great, why are they being built in secret?

Thinking back to the Royal Commission into #AgedCare in #Australia.

And how the Commisioner who saw the system as needing a fundamental re-do died only part way into the inquiry.

And how the final Commissioners referred precisely no-one for criminal investigation.

Just like the #RoboDebt Royal Commission.

And how the system is still the #AgedCareCrisis.

And the decades of failures by state governments to prosecute crimes in nursing homes never gets addressed.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....

I have been part of a withdrawal of food and administration of opioids.
(And seen another.)
Have had misgivings.
"refused to kill her mother" strikes chords.

I hold that people who both profit from & participate in providing inadequate care are not well described as "compassionate".
"Enablers" seems a better descriptor.

An industry targeting Australia’s ageing population is growing, but can AI deliver more humanity in aged care?

While companion robots are being introduced and virtual experiences hope to ‘take loneliness away’, one expert agrees tech should never replace the human element

The Guardian
State-funded AI companions like ElliQ are being used as cost-effective solutions to loneliness in older adults, but they risk replacing meaningful human care and consent with bureaucratic shortcuts. Are society's priorities truly being served?
