The EAAE conference 2023 in Rennes just started. Beautiful city, nice venue and many great scientists here. I'm looking forward to the next few days and the interesting programme and talks that are offered. Is anybody else on Mastodon also here? #eaae2023 #agecon

@fishecon Surely the #AgEcon peeps will appreciate all good (and bad) jokes about corn?

Have you got any to share about the #CostOfLiving?

@marcgoldwein I found some by checking out hashtags and groups. (You can also follow both of those, too.)

Quick question.

How does spraying fertilisers onto broad acres mimic nature?

Watching a TV show about biodynamic regenerative agriculture and trying to get my head around the idea that "perfectly balanced nutrients" rain from the sky in a "natural process".

Why is it so important to protect nature and biodiversity?
-- by Jeannette Cwienk, for DW News

"up to 70% of the world's harvests are directly or indirectly dependent on intact polders and mangrove swamps, in part because they protect land used to grow food crops from flooding."

Why is it so important to protect nature and biodiversity?

Delegates from nearly 200 countries are in Montreal to find a way to protect the world's nature. But what's at risk when ecosystems are lost, and animals and plants go extinct?

Product differentiation and the relative importance of wine attributes: U.S. retail prices

An #Introduction post.

I am a #FoodEconomist and a #Dietitian. #AgEcon and #NutritionScience trained.

I try to get #Nutritionists and #Economists to understand each other's fields better.

#Malnutriton and #DietQuality are two of the biggest determinants of #WellBeing and econ is all about improving well-being.

I teach #GlobalHealth, #FoodEcon, and #Nutrition. My research focuses on #NutritionData and the uses (and sometimes misuses) of #Data for nutrition improvement.

@Abiwoods People using #AgEcon would be interested in your research too.
@ElizKane Likewise! I am just dedicating 15-30 minutes a day to learning this new platform so slow going. I want to connect with #AgLaw #AgPolicy #AgEcon #FoodSystems #FoodBusiness #NutritionAccess types but would be psyched to never think about the paid-pr-flack-horror that became #agtwitter ever again. So far it feels hard to find niche people without joining a niche group and I want all sorts of other content as well - the stuff I don't know I don't know because I don't even know it exists.
