Part of the Music Grooves exchange came from Feld talking with #HerbieHancock about the fact that the famed pianist had emulated an excerpt #Mbuti (“Pygmy”) music in #WatermelonMan. Hancock, then in something of an #Afrocentrist phase, told Feld that his use was “a brothers’ kind of thing”.
