Today I've seen two different fedizens complaining about paywalls going up and blaming it on enshittification. Well, maybe.

The better we get at blocking ads, the more online publishers will need to put up paywalls. One way or another, stuff has to be paid for.

I'm blocking ads with trackers, which turns out to be most ads. Every time I have a chance to respond to one of those "We noticed you're blocking ads" messages, I say, no, I'm blocking tracking. Turn off your tracking and I'll see your ads.

So far, I have had 0 takers on my offer.

Jour 2 : uBlock Origin

La toute première chose à faire après avoir choisi un navigateur : installer un bloqueur de pubs. uBlock Origin est la référence en la matière, étant extrêmement performant et peu gourmand en ressources. Et étant un logiciel libre, ce bloqueur ne laisse pas passer les annonceurs qui voudraient lui passer un petit billet en douce 😉
