For todays #FollowFriday I'm going to do something a bit different. We have a lot of new users, one of the biggest surges we have seen in a while. As such a lot of new users are looking for high quality, long-standing, accounts to follow. Similarly many of the new users need some help getting attention and making new friends.

As such I am going to do this #FF in a few parts. One for old users I have mentioned in previous posts, as well as some of the new users who have been making quality posts and been active for at least a week now. Hopefully this will be more helpful.

Also a section for some bots might be useful.

Why would a paranoid psychotic make xerself as accessible as possible to who xi believes is watching her? Because trying to mute the signal to noise ratio, by decreasing signal and/or increasing noise, draws even more attention. It pisses apex predators off.

And frankly, I have absolutely nothing to hide, so if I'm living in an episode of Black Mirror, I might as well do as the Roman's do.

Being #ActuallyPsychotic with a system of delusions involving being under active police surveillance (because let's be honest, everyone is under passive police surveillance) as well as an amab enby presents an intersection of challenges. Is the older, gruff looking white guy who paid a little too much attention to me at a fast food place, and then made a show of looking at this nails, a transphobe signaling he noticed my painted nails? A cop trying to get under my skin? Or probably just some random dude?

For a long time, I was a mix of equal parts terrified all the time and desperate to signal submission, in the hopes that if I show an apex predator my throat, maybe it'll be content with just resting its fangs on it instead of taking a bite.

Recently though, that's changed. Now I'm a fully dissolved solution of terrified and pissed off, part of why I've become so public about being psychotic. (The other part is pure survival; I left my job because my psychosis didn't fit in, because I didn't disclose it, so I'm not going to make the same mistake again.) So if my admittedly out of touch with reality gut says some random cishet looking white guy is eyeballing me for some reason? I eyeball him right the fuck back; start with trying to make eye contact for just noticeably longer than accidental, then periodically check in with where his eyes are looking. If we do lock eyes, none of that tired, "Ah fuck, I have to look away!" crap. Just keep staring until he backs the fuck off.

I'll be fucked if I allow myself to be the only uncomfortable motherfucker in the room.

I'm Serra, my personal account is https://lost-angles.im, and I'm trying something new with Masto by collecting accounts on instances whose purpose I'm drawn to. I'm here because I want to learn more about libertarian socialism and solarpunk.

My previous attempts at using Masto were marked by trying to be ideologically pure in terms of instances and tech, and all that did was cause me a lot of stress, because I am #ActuallyPsychotic. I've decided to mellow out when it comes to political stances of others; for example, you'll see I have an account on qoto.org, despite their policy to federate with Gab in the interest of freeze peach.

I have recently attempted to get involved in local direct action, specifically Food Not Bombs, but a recent psychotic episode caused me to implode in real life group social settings. It will take work for me to be able to follow my values in real life, and until I can, I'm privileged to be here.
