#ActuallyAutsitic realization today: I've said for a while that these days I don't typically use AAC. But a huge part of that reason is that I'm using text communication that typically isn't seen as AAC -- For every word I speak with my voice during the day, I probably use Slack for 5 word at work.

It's a good reminder for me. AAC can be part of universal access. My team communicates extensively in Slack, not as an accommodation, but for other reasons. But that means I'm less worn out by speec.

Are you ticklish? If not, did you used to be ticklish?

As a child, I was ticklish until, at age 11, I decided that I would no longer be ticklish. Since then, I have not been ticklish at all.

I have yet to meet any others who experienced this "turning off" of being ticklish.

In other news, I just talked to my brother and he thinks he might be autistic too. He does recognize some of my traits in him, and he talked to me about other traits. I encouraged him to read about it.

😁

I also floated to him the notion that our mother could have been autistic and he did not balk at the notion.

When you discover
A person to be autistic,
A portal opens before you.
An orifice, through which
You become an invited guest.
Don't stick your dick in it.

Isn't it fun to talk about "good schools"? Kind of like talking about "good cops" and equally as fantastic. As in fantasy, not real, never.

All the good schools for my autistic and/or my transgender and/or my nonwhite and/or my lesbian and/or my ADHD kids ...

Not a long list. Not even one.

And any school that is not good for my kids is not a good school for any kids.

@PentagramPip from just perusing a bunch of abstracts related to the topics of #PTSD #ActuallyAutsitic

seems the amygdala and hippocampus are what should be/are being looked at (but obviously, not together minus a few studies)
