Reports of the “switch your iPhone or iPad to our Apple Account and make money*” scams have increased lately, and the scammers are gaining full ownership of the devices.

They’ll switch the device into lost mode too, which blocks the sole remaining path to reverting Activation Lock and regaining ownership.

And I sincerely hope both @EU_Commission and @Bundesverband will actively go after manufacturers that want to deny people their freedom to actually own their devices as per "1st sale doctrine".

Like it's none of Apple's business if someone chose to get a #refurbished display unless they want to fraudulently sell it as a new device and not a replacement - but that's already covered with fraud.
