Archipelago, 12x12, acrylic ring pour. #art #fluidart #acrylicpouring #acrylicpainting #ringpour
This is my most important painting. I created it on one of the darkest nights in my whole life. All the heaviness and darkness are there. Because it is so dear to me, I framed it, and now it hangs on the wall in my living room.

November 2023. This is my very first painting. I was encouraged to create it by simply pouring paint onto the canvas, moving it around, and seeing what it would turn into. I felt both scared and excited, and I really enjoyed the process. I also liked the effect, though that was probably because it was something new to me.

Day 16 - Acrylic Fluid Art, “Autumn Leaves”

Mondays (and in the case of some people including but not limited to Sam Winchester, Tuesdays) are a bummer, and regrettably, there's nothing I can do about that 🙃. However, what I CAN do is share a happy, sparkly fluid art painting to hopefully brighten your morning 🤗!

This is a Shelee bloom on 10" canvas that I painted a few years ago, and it's still one of my favorites 🥰. I just love working with bright colors, and I feel like this piece really shows that 😊.

I realisated recently that my art process is rather unusual: I start with the background.
Either a piece of #FluidArt (#AcrylicPouring) which I painted and scanned in, or a computer-generated fractal-like image. (Two sources for the computer generated images: #fractals from evolvotron, or images I generated using #ContextFree, a graphics design language.)

Then I play around! Which is why I often feel like my art is just doodling. Some pieces have more intent than others.

Magnetic sheets: great for sticking thin metal dies to for storage.

Magnetic photo paper: terrible for sticking thin metal dies to for storage. They just aren't magnetic enough. They are barely magnetic enough to stick to the refridgerator.

However, I think they will do excellently for #FluidArt, whether that be #AcrylicPouring or #AlcoholInk, because they are basically plastic paper. So that's something new for me to try.

There is this attitude that, unless the Art (or Craft) has a steep learning curve, that
a) it is "cheating", or
b) it is only for children (and therefore adults should be publicly mocked and shamed for doing it), or
c) it isn't possible for someone to become skillful at it because there is no skill involved in it whatsoever

Yes, I'm thinking of Acrylic Pouring in particular, but it isn't the only one.
