I here show #floweringplants on a dry #meadow in #Berlin in mid-#October 2025: #Achillea #millefolium, #Echium #vulgare, #Berteroa #incana, #Jacobaea #vulgaris. They serve as last #nectarsource for various insects. But what effect does #globalwarming actually have on autumn (further reading)?

White Yarrow is a perennial herb with upright stems, feathery divided leaves, and flat clusters of small white flowers; it plays an important ecological role as a nectar and pollen source for insects, improves soil stability with its deep roots, and has long been valued in medicine for its wound-healing, anti-inflammatory, and digestive-supporting properties.
Wild thyme is a low-growing, creeping aromatic plant with tiny oval leaves and purple-pink flower clusters; it provides excellent nectar for bees and butterflies, stabilizes soil in dry meadows and rocky areas, and is traditionally used as both a culinary and medicinal herb, especially for soothing coughs, aiding digestion, and harnessing its antimicrobial effects.
