Going through the pictures taken last October, when travelling on board the new #Amtrak 🇺🇸 #NextGenAcela high-speed train on the “Northeast Corridor” to New York. This #Alstom #Acela is a close relative to the future French #TGV, and it’s actually quite stylish. Top speed was above 250 kph.

Ah, trains again. This is from November 15, 2025. The Avelia Liberty (I nickname it Princess Avelia) went into service in August, when I booked a ticket in November just so that it's cheaper. I just returned from a conference at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, and transferred from the LIRR to Princess Avelia to go to Providence, where I had never been. For all the complaints about Avelia, I didn't have any problem with the train itself this time, but did have problems with Connecticut delays. #nyc #pennstation #amtrak #acela #highspeedrail #trains #selfportrait #darktable

I'm glad that #Amtrak is finally getting their new #Acela trains put into service, but ngl, seeing the old bomber Acela sets get towed off to the scrapyard is super sad.
