Just pulling the speed chart I recorded on this trip, south of Providence. It's quite interesting to see the train controls taking the speed on an exponential response before settling to the desired speed of 160 mph!
Acela Nextgen was a smooth ride overall. The two short 160 mph sprints before and after Providence, RI were a nice experience. Connecticut is pretty but horribly slow.

I'm glad that #Amtrak is finally getting their new #Acela trains put into service, but ngl, seeing the old bomber Acela sets get towed off to the scrapyard is super sad.
