Interesting observation. When I let the app generate a description, it always defaults to sunset and not sunrise. It makes me wonder how many other #algorithms choose one thing over another as the #default without much concern about how #accurate it is and how many people quickly choose the default because it’s easier to let the algorithm tell the story than it is to tell it themselves. My prior post was a sunrise and the app defaulted to sunset as it has done every single time I’ve used it to generate a description.

I've been using weather.com for years for weather/forecast info but switched to AccuWeather about six months ago, partly because #Firefox was shoving it in my face on every new tab and partly because the former site was bombarding me with ads and sluggish web performance.

Recently, I've started using the National Weather Service, weather.gov. The wealth of information they provide upfront is great, too.

While there is some variation between all three sources, Accuweather.com has been, interestingly, the least accurate.

I was under the impression these 3rd party sites source their data from the NWS. But I guess this isn't the case?! 🤔

#weather #data #accurate

@BetaCuck4Lyfe #accurate :/

But also happy bday.

Start of the thread. You should read it. It’s entirely too #accurate.

Scully, we're not being told everything about this methyl methacrylate tank. I have a source that says it's part of a dark conspiracy to hide the truth from the American public Mulder ... It's an overheated chemical reaction in a tank owned by a company that may have been disregarding basic safety standards. Wrong, Scully. It's an excuse to move 40,000 people out of the area so they won't see that there's a plastic-eating lifeform attacking the plant. A lifeform so alien and monstrous that the human imagination can scarcely conjure up its existence. Mulder, this is absurd! No, what's absurd is how much flights to LA cost. Now, c'mon, we have tickets to fly out tonight.
