Over the weekend I’m listing my pair of Class 55 Deltics on eBay. They’re just too long for the layout, they don’t behave on the helix because of the sheer length between the bogies (no sniggering at the back). Maybe if the gradient was a bit less, and the helix was absolutely consistent gradient everywhere, they’d work.

At least the Accurascale habit of short production runs means that I’ll get almost all my money back - until off course Mr Taxman steps in and deducts 20% because I’ve sold over £1k on eBay this tax year…

Always up for a local private sale if anyone in Cornwall is in the market. Compete with ESU Loksound decoder, offers around £225 each. Going for £260-£280 online.

Snagged a Class 37 to replace them…

The #Rapido GWR 44XX 2-6-2 is currently running in. This rake of Bachmann wagons will just run and run now the back to backs are set, so if there are any issues I know it’s the engine, not the track or wagons.

Lanterns added to the brake van by me.

The engine is pretty nice, on a par with #Accurascale - weighty, detailed, and a #LokSound DCC sound decoder. Only minus point so far is there appears to be no stay-alive.

It’s Christmas today. That is to say, the postman delivered my final Accurascale order, a Class 50. One small piece of plastic needs reattaching (third photo). #ModelRailway #Accurascale #Class50

Ordered two more Accurascale Mk1 brake 3rd coaches so that my four carriage rakes will become five carriage rakes with one at each end…

My #Accurascale Class 37 DCC chip, and speaker, are on their way back to the manufacturer due to the sound just randomly cutting out. I was first asked to change CV 63 from 180 to 150 and see if this had any effect - if anything it made it worse. Having removed the speaker I see it’s 4 ohms, so have they just not addressed their known problem with the audio amp design in production run 2 or have they removed the sugar cube speaker entirely to avoid it?

Either way it is sad to have to return them, that loco is good at finding poor running spots on the tracks…

Even the internals of an #Accurascale #modelrailway locomotive are exquisitely engineered. Pogo pins for connectivity. Lovely.
Turns out that Vienna to Cornwall doesn’t take that long after all! Not the best photos (I’m working but just HAD to open this) but here’s the #Accurascale Class 37 in all its glory. #ModelRailway #OOScale
Ooh my #Accurascale Class 37 has shipped 🎉🥳

The problem with #Accurascale is that you have to either pre-order their products (direct or through a shop) only to have the delivery date pushed back at random, or elect to wait until a product starts shipping and probably miss out - or overpay to get one via the resale marketplace.

Have they just told me my #OOGauge Class 55 Deltic, ordered last April for delivery next month, has just slipped six months? Yes. Yes they have. And it isn’t even the first production run.

One down, one to go. #Accurascale Manor steam loco 7812, Erlestoke Manor, has been delivered. Looks fab. And I’ve nowhere to run it, sadly. #ModelTrains
